Never Hush! Adoptee voices matter.
It’s time to write your story.

When I published my debut memoir-in-essays, “The Guild of the Infant Saviour: An Adopted Child’s Memory Book,” the backlash from my adoptive family and my birth mother was harsh. They wanted me to stay silent and be grateful. They wanted me to hush.

As adoptees we can’t seem to escape the narratives others impose on us. In partnership with Adoptees On, I’ve developed a series of workshops just for adoptees called “Never Hush.” It’s time to make your voice to heard.

In these workshops we’ll critique each other’s work, use generative exercises, listen (via Adoptees On podcasts), play, and art to explore thematic topics related to writing about our adoptee experiences. Whether you’re coming out of the fog, in reunion, or healing, my aim is to empower and support you by growing your awareness, strengthening your voice, creating community, and bolstering your word count.

Whether you write for publication or to empower your private voice, join me.
